New Years Resolutions..Hmm?

It's time for those new year resolutions. I know, exercise more, eat less, travel more, be more patient, and so on. In business we make resolutions like contact more sales leads each week, reach more customers via the internet, email, social media, and so on. In our personal relationships we vow to be better spouses, better parents, better children, better family members, brothers and sisters. Then, things happen that we have no control over happen. These are good things, bad things, unusual, annoying problems. LIFE will come at you in ways that are unexpected and sometimes difficult. Your well intentioned New Year Resolutions may have to take a back seat to your real issues.

So the best we can all do is give 100%, try to improve as a person from year to year.  Remember ATTITUDE is a little thing that makes a BIG difference.

Snowbird Termites

Fall/Winter is #TERMITE season in the Valley of the Sun. That's right folks the Subterranean termites don't like the 110 degree weather either. This week we've seen termites in the ceilings of homes in the Sun Cities. On the stemwall outside of homes in Glendale and coming out of a cracks in the concrete floor in an upscale neighborhood in Peoria. Termites do millions of dollars in damage each year in the USA. Look for the termites trails or tubes on your home. #TERMIDOR  termite control starting at $599.00 for a 5 year warranty. Enjoy our great Fall/winter weather, take a hike, go for a walk, enjoy.

C.A.R.E, Communication , Appreciation , Response , Enthusiasm , what a positive goal or message for any company to strive for. This logo or message was on the letterhead of a company that was emailing us to apologize for not delivering a document on time as expected. Ironic, the email was a "sorry we are late note".

If you call us we will return your call the same day, usually within minutes. If you have a problem we will respond appropriately, and not ignore the situation. Our customer service staff and our technicians are  friendly and enthusiastic. We appreciate your business very much and our service will exceed your expectations. We C.A.R.E. every day with every customer. #UNIVERSAL PEST CONTROL

YES we will retun your call!

Today we received a call a new customer who found us on the internet. All of our lines were busy, so she left a message on our voice mail. We returned her call in less than 30 minutes. She was shocked we called her back so quickly. Evidently she had called several companies over a two day period and we were the only company that returned her call. She spoke with one of our customer service representatives who answered most of her questions. Then she spoke to a manager who answered several technical questions. This new customer is now scheduled for service. We strive to provide excellent service at all times, you can always reach us by phone or email. Actually, our goal is to "exceed our customers expectations."

Wild #Bees are dangerous!

#BEES are very active in the Phoenix area right now especially in the north & west valley.  Our Bee calls are double what they usually are. It's always a good idea to hire a professional. Customers are calling with swarms under their eaves, in a tree, in irrigation valve boxes..everywhere.  The money you spend is a fraction of what it will cost you if you are attacked by a swarm trying to do a "do it your self Bee hive removal." Call us #UNIVERSAL PEST CONTROL 623 979-1983.

I distrust Camels!

"I distrust camels, and anyone else who can go a week without a drink." by Joe E. Lewis.  As our daily highs get stuck in the 100's for the next six months, Hydrate is the cool thing to do. People, animals, and even insects need more water as daily temps soar. Insects seek moisture around the base of your house where your plants and irrigation system provides them with water. More dangerous creatures like Scorpions and black widow spiders then visit your house to hunt those very insects.

#UNIVERSAL PEST CONTROL can help keep those insects down and reduce their population which will in turn reduce the more dangerous creatures. So the moral of the story is drink more water and call Universal.

HOME IS EVERY PERSON'S CASTLE

We did a Termite treatment for a customer which involved drilling 1/4 inch holes a foot apart around the inside of his garage, then injected #TERMIDOR to kill the termites. We then filled the holes with clear caulking. We explained this procedure in advance, even got him to sign off, before we did the work.

He and his wife were not happy, didn't like the way the little holes looked. So we immediately responded and went out and decided we would paint all those little holes at no charge with paint the customer provided. We went above and beyond what we were required to do in this case.

Their home is their castle and we were going to make it right and please our customer, mission accomplished.

BE GRATEFUL

BE GRATEFUL

How many times do you say the words "thank you" in a day? How many times do you hear these same words? We have to remind ourselves to thank our great customers at #Universal Pest Control each time we see them or they use or service. In our personal life, thank people for gifts, dinners, or other acts of kindness you experience. One can never be too greatful or too polite.

You did a great job, Thanks!

Job well done. Recently we did a Termite treatment with #TERMIDOR for a very elderly sweet lady in Sun City West, Arizona. The next day she called and insisted upon talking to the Manager.  I took her call, and was please to hear her be very complimentary of our Termite Crew.   Our technician was doing our regular pest control service at her home when he noticed that she had termite tubes in her garage.

Often times many of us are quick to complain, about poor service. How many of us are as quick to acknowledge good service?  Next time you get a great server at a restaurant, or get a great hair cut, tell them what a great job they did, as well as leaving a good tip.

Get into the Flow

Flow is the form of joy, excitement and happiness that occurs when we are so absorbed in an activity we love (in the case of work maybe not love, but really don't mind) that we can loose ourselves and time seems to stand still. So get off the sidelines and get into the Flow. *from pickthebrain.com

Life isn't Fair, lessons you won't be taught in school

Today's Az Republic has an article by business consultant Harvey Mackay, "lessons you won't be taught in school. This is something we often hear from young people, "it's not fair". It is often true that a certain situation, grade, report, choice, promotion, or whatever seems unfair and may very well be.

As parents one of the most important things we can teach our children is that whining about a situation rarely helps. They have to learn to rise above it and move on, in order to achieve their goals. Also learning to negotiate any situation as Mackay says "you don't get what you want you get what you negotiate."

So if you get TERMITES, no it's not fair.  No whining, call us we will negotiate a treatment and price you will be pleased with. UNIVERSAL PEST CONTROL 623 979-1983

Journey begins with first step

Wally Amos lost his famous Cookie company years ago. Now at the age when most people are thinking about slowing down he is busy creating yet another cookie company. Wally talks in the Costco magazine about "the longest journey begins with the first step, and about taking life one step at a time, and living in the moment at an age." Wise advise for sure, many of us do not take the time to appreciate each day.

In business many are afraid to take a chance or take a first step with a new idea or new product or service.  At #Universal Pest Control we have learned to accept change and new products if they will help us serve our customers. So..don't worry take that first step!

Grocho Marx once said "The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that you've got it made." Wow! Lance Armstrong is finding out the hard way, that you can only fake it for so long. Our business is very competitive and some companies resort to questionable practices and promises to gain a sales advantage.
#UNIVERSAL PEST CONTROL has always valued integrity and honest business practices above all else.
