Fall only exists in the ABSTRACT

*In the Sonoran Desert, Fall only exists in the abstract, a thing one can drive to Prescott or Flagstaff for. Or maybe you can share vicariously with friends or family members' Facebook updates. Hot Cars & Children CAUTION (dogs too)

Driving requires that we pay attention at all times. Most accidents are caused by inattentive, distracted drivers. The tragedy of leaving a child in a hot car happens all to often. Here is an informative link to a great article that The Ciulla Law firm posted. http://www.phoenixazinjurylaw.com/hot-cars-and-children---phoenix-arizona

Tolerance & Acceptance of Others

If we all could learn a little more tolerance of others it would make us all happier. WORLD CUP mania is on every possible media outlet, can't get away from it. I'm a huge NFL fan, could care less about Soccer or "football" as the rest of the world calls it.  I recognize that many people I know enjoy World Cup, I just have to accept that and not rain on their parade. My favorite cousin is on the opposite political side than I. She often post's her views on on Facebook. Well..She is my favorite cousin so I smile, take a deep breath and accept her political rants.
You don't have to accept Insects or termites! Universal Pest Control 623 979-1983

"Slide Fire" Close Call for many

Our family has had a small home in Kachina Village just south of Flagstaff, Az. for years. The recent "Slide Fire", a huge Forrest Fire between Sedona, Az and Flagstaff came too close for comfort. This monster Fire has burned for almost 2 weeks and has burned over 21,000 acres and is only 53% contained.

Many people were forced to evacuate their homes, 1000's of others were on stand-by evacuation (be packed and ready to leave in 15 minutes). Our neighbor behind us, his family and 5 little dogs evacuated. The Forrest Firefighters did and amazing job! Not one house was lost and no loss of life.

While we were safe back in Peoria, Az., we certainly had concern about losing this special place. Long week ends, holidays, pancake breakfasts, hikes, grilling, somemores over the fire pit in the back yard. Great times, many memories for us and our children and grandchildren. Luckily the Firefighters saved the day. Thank You Brave Firefighters.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

Phoenix Police proposed pay cut- software becoming obsolete-Summer Stuff & More!

First of all, we think it's completely unfair to give the Phoenix Police Officers a pay cut. They are already understaffed which makes their job even more dangerous. Next time a city council members needs a cop, they should try calling a fellow politician.

We found out our perfectly good WindowsXP operating system is now outdated and is no longer supported. Our Quick Books 2011 version will become outdated as of May 31, 2014. We are forced to purchase a new version. Our customer database program won't run with new Windows version, so we need to purchase an update even though the current version is working just fine, thank you. We also need to buy several new computers to handle the new programs. And so it goes!

BEES.. are having serious problems. Their numbers are decreasing worldwide. So the EPA has established new guidelines to help protect the remaining bees. Your Pest Control Operator will have to be careful not to spray any flowering plants or flowers.

Finally..SUMMER brings vacations, day trips, schools out, festivals, day trips to the cool country, and more. It also brings scorpions, black widow spiders, large sewer roaches (American), ants, crickets, earwigs, and more. Call UNIVERSAL PEST CONTROL 623-979-1983.

U S Marine Afghan vet gets help

I was aware that the son of one of our #Universal Pest Control long time employees was returning home and leaving the military. His dad mentioned that he had been looking for work but wasn't having much luck. He worked at Amazon during the holidays but was laid off after the Christmas season. This is a really good young man who served in a forward position in Afghanistan. His frustration grew, he had a wife and baby to support.

As luck would have it, I was at a birthday party and was talking to my son in-law's brother who is a supervisor at a local firm and they were looking for a good person.  This man went out of his way to have this young man contact him, and then got him an interview with the hiring manager. The great news is that the young Vet has been there about a month is doing great and is getting a company truck. Thanks to all who helped him out and especially thanks to the Veterans for their service.

PHOENIX POLICE OFICER KILLED

Our hearts are heavy with grief because Phoenix police officer John Hobbs was killed this week attempting to apprehend a dangerous felon. His partner Albert 'AJ" Casados was also shot but, has been released from the hospital and will make a full recovery. Even though they had been shot they bravely returned fire and killed the dangerous felon. Thank you for your service.

Pick Your Battles..You Can"t Win them All

I was talking to a customer today about an extensive #TERMITE Treatment. Because of the cost, he said he had to talk to his wife who was not home at the moment. He went on to tell me that they have been married for 50 years. When I complimented him on the longevity of their marriage. He said, "You know you can always be right or you can be happy.  Also it's important to know which battles are worth fighting if you want to stay married." We thought this was a great bit of wisdom to share on Valentines Day.

Universal Pest Control's Blog: Snowbird Termites

Universal Pest Control's Blog: Snowbird Termites: Fall/Winter is #TERMITE season in the Valley of the Sun. That's right folks the Subterranean termites don't like the 110 degree weat...

EXPERIENCE REALLY DOES COUNT

In the last couple of days we've come across several examples of how an inexperienced estimator gave customers the wrong info or treatment plan. In one case the professional didn't know one type of construction from another, potentially costing the customer hundreds of extra dollars. In the other they missed or omitted necessary and critical steps which would have caused the #Termite Treatment to fail. This company was able to "low bid" because the weren't doing the whole treatment necessary.

Just as you wouldn't want an inexperienced doctor operation or doing a procedure on you or a relative. Experience counts when protecting your home from #TERMITES or your family from dangerous insect.
#UNIVERSAL PEST CONTROL has 35 plus years of experience, you can count on us.
