New Year's resolutions

As we welcome in the new year 2013 some of us will make New Year's resolutions.  Most of us will forget or have slipped by the end of January, especially those having to do with exercise or weight loss.

For me I will try to improve in every aspect of my life. I know good luck with that! It leaves me a lot of room for small improvements here and there.

Universal Pest Control will try to improve how we service our customers and use modern technology more to communicate with them.  Customers can always call us and talk to a human immediately with out pressing #1 or #3 and so on.

Finally we should all try to smile more and be more civil with each other.  Remember what Voltaire said "Life is a shipwreck, but we must not for get to sing in the lifeboats."

LUCKY?

LUCKY? Some people seem to be luckier than others. Listening to a radio sports talk show of all places I heard an interesting philosophy about Luck. We've all heard the saying "the harder you work the luckier you get." Well the sports talk host says he thinks that as we give our children more and more material things they get lazier and lazier. They get AFFLUENZA, which is the expectation of success being given to them instead of having to work hard to attain success and become Lucky. Interesting, but certainly not true in all cases.

A friend is Police officer and this week he and his partner rescued a family from armed home invasion. They had to go in alone, couldn't wait for back up. So brave and so dedicated. Also, we have our first technician opening in 2 years. We posted the job on line and within an hour had 30 resumes. We hired an outstanding individual who is thrilled to have a job.

ATTITUDE

We are impressed with Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals.  He has a positive attitude during a miserable season when they have lost 7 games in a row. Larry continues to support charities and causes dear to his big heart. He also makes many donations, putting his money where his mouth is. Comments about his team are positive and never points a finger at teammates.

Election & Termites

Wow the election is finally over. Now we can all get back to our real lives. Every one needs to look at he big picture and think about being more civil and respectful of others. Wouldn't that be great?
